Photographing and Editing Artwork for Reproductions [SOLD OUT]
Time Frame: Saturday 9-5 pm Facilitator:Jacob Daniels Skill Level: All levels welcome
I have owned my own Gicleé business Overflow Studios since 2013. It was born out of a necessity to reproduce my own artwork. Since then I have developed a process of image capture, proofing, and reproducing on paper and canvas. Many have asked me to share this knowledge so I am offering a one day class at GOA to do so. I feel art reproduction is an important arsenal for the visual artist to have because it allows for more people to experience and enjoy a piece of art. It is also a great way for an artist to generate income from their work. In this class we will learn 1. What resources and items you will need to correctly take a picture of 2d artwork. (Cameras, lights, tripod etc. ) 2.How to prepare and correctly light a piece of artwork to capture it. 3. How to transfer that image to a computer and use photoshop to edit and compare to the original. 4. I will talk also how i print and sell my gicleés.
God tells us to let our light shine before men so that they can give the glory to God, if you're an artist in the Kingdom this means sharing your artwork with the world!
I believe this is a very good tool to have under any artist belt and I look forward to seeing you all at GOA 2022.

Live painting as a "visual scribe"- posture, prayer, and the prophetic [SOLD OUT]
Time Frame: Saturday, 9-5 pm Facilitator:Bryn Gillette Skill Level: All Levels Welcome
Since 2005 Bryn Gillette has been regularly painting live during church services, special events, conferences, weddings, and even funerals. He has come to describe the role as being a "visual scribe": being in tune with the Holy Spirit and documenting the real time unfolding of God's presence in visual form. "In the course of the many hundreds of live painting experiences I've had, I have come to see the consistent importance of our posture during the process of live painting; our posture to the Lord, to those we are serving, to the Body of Christ serving alongside us, and to our own work and materials."
Live painting often requires setting aside preconception and working fast, drawing upon skills that have been honed ahead of time. With that in mind, this workshop revolves around both a substantial firsthand experience of live painting (privately in our group first and then optionally in the larger conference) as well as a series of skill developing techniques isolated key elements of (fast) paint mixing, color theory, paint application techniques, and drawing human figures quickly and accurately.
"I was once asked by a pastor to join him on stage to paint as I was inspired by the Spirit, and despite NO experience seeing or experiencing this process, I said yes. I look back and see that as the genesis moment God took my artistic loaf of bread and fish and multiplied it 1000 fold. I pray this is a moment of awakening for others who long to paint live AS an expression of worship."
