Brushed Lettering for Beginners: How to Get Started the Best Way for Success

Timeframe: Friday, 9-4pm
Facilitator: Shelley Hitz
Skill Level: Beginners

Would you like to learn brush lettering, but don't know where to start?
Maybe you're confused with all the options available for brush pens and markers and are not sure which supplies to get.
I personally made the mistake of investing in the wrong pens in the beginning and will share with you the options I recommend for beginners. You will also get a hand-picked selection of my favorite brush pens as part of the supplies for this workshop.
Maybe you've tried brush lettering and you've given up because you couldn't get the hang of it.
When I was first learning brush lettering, I did a lot of research and practiced for hours, but still failed miserably.
I was about ready to give up when I learned the basic strokes. When I started practicing my basic strokes on a consistent basis, I had a breakthrough in my lettering and saw a huge improvement. I will share these basic strokes with you in this workshop.
You will also learn the anatomy of the lowercase alphabet and how to form each letter. You will learn exactly when to lift your pen and when to make a stroke so you won't have any guesswork about what to do.
By the end of this workshop, you will leave with a finished lettering piece and a great foundation to continue practicing your brush lettering.
When you enroll in this workshop you will get access to my lettering practice sheets as well as three of my online lettering classes. This will allow you to review what you learned at any time and is a $70 value.
Not only is brush lettering relaxing, it also produces a beautiful outcome you can use for gifts, cards, artwork, and more.
Let's get started with brush lettering the best way for success!

Awakening the Dream Writers

Timeframe: Friday, 9-4pm
Facilitator: Theresa Harvard Johnson
Skill Level: All Levels Welcome

Since the beginning of time, God has positioned His most trusted scribes as witnesses, keepers and heralds over some of the most sacred oracles in the governance of heaven and earth and COMMANDED that they record them, especially those released through dreams and visions. Though scribes have been faithful in answering the call, they have not always understood their unique experiences or the critical importance and weight of their roles and activity in the dream realm“ until now. In her book 'The Scribal Realm of Dreams & Visions', Theresa Harvard Johnson brings great clarity to the scribal realm of dreams and visions – a strategically designed, apostolic atmosphere for "scribal encounters and activities" in the supernatural realm.
In this course, participants will explore the dream realm as it relates specifically to writing, recording, drawing/painting, demonstrating (performance, acting, skits) or creating (stage props, costumes, set design, etc.) what they see or experience from the dream realm. They will dig deeply into the spiritual aspect of this calling through teaching, sharing, learning to interpret their dream realm experiences; and participating in exercises that help them identify and define their dream patterns. This session is ideal for dreamers who seeking direction on how to maximize their dreams through scribal experiences.

Who Am I and How Do I Leverage That for Success as an Artist?

Timeframe: Friday, 9-4pm
Facilitator: Jim & Pat Banks
Skill Level: Beginner

Each of us is wired for life and for artistic expression differently. That is the direct expression of God in you.  We will not only help you discover your basic wiring, but how your environment growing up impacts it, how your wounds and your failures alter it, how the wiring of your parents tends to shift it and how your efforts to mature it and hone it for greater artistic expressiveness effects the fulfillment you get from that expression.
Further, as an artist you are certainly aware of the difficulties and barriers that arise in the process of creating art, as well as marketing yourself.  Often you find that that it is not only difficult to define what is blocking you, but where it is coming from as well. This Intensive ( 9 am to 5 pm) will help you accurately define what those barriers are, help you discover their precise origin and provide you with some solid strategies to help you respond to each of them appropriately so that your creative process will be undeterred from season to season, well into the future.
